TOWN OF DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – You ask, we answer!

The number one question the Your Stories Team is being asked deals with the proposed Chick-fil-A in DeWitt. Viewers wonder if construction has come to a halt and if the plan to bring the popular chain to the intersection of Erie Boulevard and Bridge Street is still a go?

    It is still a go.

The plan got approval from the DeWitt Town Planning Board back in the spring of 2023. According to the developer, they finally got the green light to get a traffic light. Grazi Zazzara said with the recent approval from NYSDOT, construction will soon begin.

Clearing up confusion on where the Chick-fil-A will be located

Our viewers have been confused about exactly where the Chick-fil-A is being built. Many think it’s the new brick building that’s now standing near the Erie Blvd/Bridge Street intersection. That’s not the Chick-fil-A.

That building will have three stores. Zazzara said Supercuts and a smoothie shop will occupy two of the spots. According to Icon Companies’ website, the smoothie shop will be a Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The third company has yet to be named.

The Chick-fil-A will be built next to the new building, but closer to Erie Blvd.

Zazzara said the hold-up getting the Chick-fil-A built has been getting approval from the NYSDOT to put a traffic light at the intersection of Bridge Street and Celi Drive.

According to the site survey filed with the Town of DeWitt, customers will enter Chick-fil-A by taking Bridge Street to Celi Drive.

Zazzara said crews will begin construction this week and was hopeful the Chick-fil-A could open in the spring. But he cautioned that the timeline could change if they face utility or other delays.
