Chilly, rainy for one more day

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – Well, Tuesday was certainly nicer than Sunday and Monday, albeit still unseasonably chilly and showery at times. Be patient because it’s about to get really nice again. Find out when below…

Keep the umbrella & jacket handy for now

Our weather has been stuck in quite the icky pattern lately (in our opinion). It’s been chilly and unsettled at times, but we’re almost done! It’s in the 40s to low 50s for one more day Wednesday before we start to warm it back up some.

Some pesky lake effect rain, and graupel showers stick around through at least early Wednesday afternoon before slowly dissipating later Wednesday afternoon and evening.

We do expect intervals of sun to come back out on Wednesday between the showers just like Tuesday.

Frost Advisory

Our temperatures really bottom out Thursday morning. So much so that there’s a Frost Advisory for Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Seneca, and Wayne counties from midnight until 9am Thursday. These are the areas where the National Weather Service considers it to still be in growing season.

Even outside of the counties part of the advisory will likely have patchy frost. Our typical colder pockets could get as cold as the upper 20s!

A real treat to end the week…

Our extended forecast is still looking warmer/milder and sunnier beginning on Thursday. A ridge of high pressure will allow warmer air to return to the region along with a sunnier sky.

The beautiful weather with warmer air looks to continue into Friday into the weekend and probably beyond!

The National Weather Service’s 8–14-day outlook even has most of the eastern half of the country with above average temperatures more often than not till almost Halloween! So, once we make it through midweek, we’ll be rewarded by Mother Nature! 😊
