Spencerport woman is hospitalized after being crashed into by speeding driver on I-90 W

DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Police are investigating a serious crash that tied up traffic on the NYS Thruway (I-90) near Carrier Circle on Wednesday morning, Oct. 16.

State Police say the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday when a 2019 Hyundai driven by 50-year-old Victoria Ackerman was driving west on I-90 at a high speed in the passing lane and crashed into a 2020 Ford driven by 48-year-old Julie Seils from Spencerport.

Seils’ car was pushed off the highway into the median where it overturned.

Seils was taken to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition with serious injuries. Ackerman was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for minor injuries.

Ackerman has been issued tickets for speeding and following too closely.
