SYRACUSE N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Four people are being helped by the Red Cross after a stove caught fire at their apartment building on Sunday.

The Syracuse Fire Department said they received a call around 3 p.m. for a report of a stove fire that was spreading to the kitchen at a home on Dablon Court.

When firefighters got to the scene they said they saw heavy smoke coming out of an apartment.

Firefighters quickly made it to the kitchen to keep the fire from spreading further. The fire department says the fire was declared out after approximately ten minutes.

A second-floor apartment where the fire began suffered fire, smoke, and water damage. A first-floor apartment also sustained water damage.

One man was treated for minor burns at the scene, no one else got hurt from the fire.
