Saxton Fire Hall to host ‘murder mystery’ dinner, show

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Saxton Fire Hall will be holding a murder mystery dinner, sponsored by the Changes in the Parkway Committee.

On March 16, at 6 p.m. and March 17, at 3 p.m., “Murder at the Power Plant Mystery Dinner” will feature characters that will make community members scratch their heads when trying to figure out who the culprit could be. Seats are $35 per person and include a buffet dinner of chicken and beef with all the trimmings.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase chances on a lottery tree, basket raffle and 50/50 drawings each day. For additional information, contact Robin Smith at 814-502-6318.

The scene

Sally is in jail for tax evasion, Maxine is in jail for murder, Phyllis is hunting a new man and “sticky-fingered” Mary was fired from the coffee shop recently. Cindy is an executive secretary to the “big boss” and Sarah is splitting her time between the flower shop and selling sandwiches at the plant.

John, husband of Phyllis, is a plant supervisor. Sparky was recently fired from the plant for starting a fire but some ask if he was really the cause of the fire or if it was a set up.

A new investigator arrives in town to check out the fire and while he visits, a murder occurs! That makes two mysteries to solve: who started the fire and who committed the murder? Through questioning by detectives and the audience, participants will learn everyone’s motive and at the end of the show the murderer will be revealed. There will be a different script for each show.
