HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — More than $600,000 has been awarded to emergency service grants to the 73rd District, State Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Clearfield/Cambria) announced.

The grants, funded by proceeds generated by slot machine gaming across the state, were awarded by the Office of State Fire Commissioner. The money can be used for projects that include constructing or renovating a fire or ambulance company facility, purchasing or repairing equipment, training, or reducing existing debt.

“I appreciate the leadership in each company taking initiative to submit for the grants” Kephart said. “This funding is in the best interests of not only the fire companies themselves but the communities they serve. More than $500,000 is coming to those who serve the 73rd District.”
