Tatman Run Recreation Area closed for road, bridge construction

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Tatman Run Recreation Area at Raystown Lake is now closed and will remain closed for several weeks due to an upcoming bridge project.

The closure will allow PennDOT the time to build a temporary road and bridge that will bypass the area where the bridge project will take place by the entrance on Route 994. The temporary road will cross Tatman Ran Stream and will intersect with Tatman Run Drive. The closure is effective immediately and access to the area is expected to return before the summer season in May 2024.

The temporary closure is not expected to have an impact on recreation outside of Tatman Run. The annual Raystown Lake Cleanup Day, scheduled for Saturday, May 4, will not be impacted.
