HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announced that $12.2 million in funding for affordable housing will be awarded to 20 Pennsylvania counties.

HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) will be delivering the funding, and is a federally funded program that provides municipalities with grant and loan assistance to expand and preserve the supply of affordable housing.

“Safe, reliable housing is a need, not a want,” U.S. Senator Bob Casey said. “Far too many Pennsylvanians struggle to find an accessible and affordable place to call home. This vital funding will invest back into our communities, leveling the playing field and revitalizing housing for low-income families across the Commonwealth.”

Central Pa. received $1,802,476 from the award. The following counties will receive money from the HOME program.
