CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that work is resuming on the “Golden Rod” bridge project.

The restoration project is set to restart on Monday, March 25, and will primarily impact the eastbound lane of traffic heading towards Philipsburg. The bridge spans Clearfield Creek along Route 322 in Lawrence Township.

Work planned includes repairs to the existing barrier, milling, paving and line painting. While crews work, eastbound traffic will be shifted to the middle of the bridge without needing to close a lane.

PennDOT is still advising drivers to add extra time to their commutes as there will be times when flagging takes place.

When the project is completed, this will improve the structure’s condition rating from “fair” to “good” while also improving the ride quality.
