CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – On Saturday, March 30 residents of Country Place Trailer Park lost access to water after a main line water break.

Four days later, over 150 residents are still without water and officials are working around the clock to find the break.

“We’re trying to figure out where that leak is. The line was put in in the 60’s. We’re having a real problem, even finding it in the line,” Larry Bickel, Local Emergency Management Coordinator for Sandy Township said.

Now area organizations and volunteers are helping ensure residents are taken care of. Sandy Township also released information for those still dealing with no water. In the post, they say residents can utilize different locations for different things as well as what to do to be safe:

    • Mountain Rub Boiy Scout Camp for Showers (4980 Mountain Run Road Penfield, Pa. 15849)
      • The Walker Center, back of Building 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday
    • Sabula Methodist Church: Restroom/ handwashing
      • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., two cases of water available daily per resident

Residents were also advised to turn off power to water heaters to avoid damage.

Since the outage on March 30, the crews are still searching for the problem, but they are working around the clock to make sure water is available.

“Gathering our efforts locally here, Walmart is going to deliver four pallets of water here to the church, Sabula Methodist church. We have a water buffalo supplying non-potable water that they can use for their toilets. The boil water notice has been put in effect here,” Bickel said.

Officials want residents to know they understand that not having the essential service is difficult.

“It stops their life, their life’s on hold until we get them water. Until we get them back to some sort of normalcy, and that’s what we’re going to do. And to the people of the Country Place Trailer Park, we’re working as hard as we can to get your water back to you.,” Bickel said.

They’re also asking for residents to help.

“We need your help, too. We need people at the park to check on their neighbors and check on your people. For us, we need that really bad. We’ll get through this together,” Bickel said.

The township is currently working to place a temporary line until the water main line can be repaired.
