Bedford County Development Association receives $350k grant for small businesses

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Bedford County Development Association’s (BCDA) Small Business Development Project is receiving a $350,000 grant, Senator Bob Casey announced.

The funding will help bolster the BCDA’s effort to support small businesses in the area through entrepreneurial training and technical assistance programs.

“This grant will enable us to expand our efforts to provide essential resources and guidance to small businesses, paving the way for their success and contributing to the economic vitality of Bedford County,” Jeff Crist, Chair of BCDA, said.

According to the release, the small businesses development project is aimed at addressing the unique challenges that small businesses face while also allowing them to grow and become more sustainable.

“Any small business owner will tell you that their businesses are more than just their jobs; many have spent everything they have money, time, and energy to make their dream a reality,” U.S. Senator Bob Casey said. “I delivered this grant because small businesses are the lifeblood of our rural communities, and we need to do everything we can to ensure their success. This training program will not only grow their technical know-how, but it will build their confidence as a rural small business owner a confidence that will power the progress of Bedford County.”
