FERGUSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) — Rutter’s has received approval to move forward with its plans to build a new store in Centre County.

The Ferguson Township Planning Commission unanimously approved the convenience store’s preliminary land development plan at their meeting on Tuesday. The plan proposes to construct an over 13,470 square foot store at the northwest coroner of Blue Course Drive and West College Avenue.

The plan shows the store will be accompanied by 16 fuel pumps, 50 regular parking spaces, 29 RV or trailer parking spaces and four handicapped parking spaces. There will also be an area for RV sewage dumping. Access to the property will be from Blue Course Drive or through Old Block Road. Rutter’s plans to install a new traffic light at the entrance on Blue Course Drive.

Currently, there are no plans for electric vehicle charging stations at this location, but Tim Bieber, site development and project manager for Rutter’s, said that the store may “eventually move to EV charging.”
