ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Jaffa Shrine was filled with birds on Sunday for the annual ‘ Falling for Feathers’ Bird Fair . The event was held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The fair had on-site parrot adoption ranging from finches to macaws. There was also a large variety of bird supplies available, including food, toys, cages and perches.

“Parrots just like dogs and cats, they need rescues. There is adoptions. The rescues are overwhelmed. Breeders, there’s so many of them here, too, that will help you properly educate you to get that perfect match,” Stacey Havlin, Organizer of the fair, said.

The purpose of the event is to teach people about owning a bird and the responsibility that comes with it.

“They are the third most rehomed birds – animals. They all have personalities. I love birds. Even if you don’t love birds, come out and check them out. You may find out that you are a bird person,” said Sherry Johnson, Owner and President of Heart and Soul Parrot Rescue .
