    More than $4,000 in fuel nearly stolen from Pennsylvania Turnpike

    BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Quick action from a company’s security team prevented more than $4,000 in diesel fuel from being driven off with, Pennsylvania State Police report.

    Troopers were called to N. Midway Plaza on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, located in Bedford, Aug. 8 at 2:22 a.m., for a report of a theft of fuel by a man with a white box truck and wearing a white Adidas hat and a navy blue shirt with “home run king” printed on it, the criminal complaint shows.

    Upon arrival, troopers came across the described truck and man who was identified by his international driver’s license as 40-year-old Duniesky Rojas Vidaurreta, of New Jersey, according to charges filed. Vidaurreta was in the process of pumping diesel fuel.

    Trooper said they spoke with a 7-Eleven corporate investigator who said they were remotely watching cameras when they spotted the white box truck and Vidaurreta get out and talk to someone in a parked vehicle. According to the complaint, the investigator told police the parked car was involved in other known fuel thefts. The investigator said he watched Vidaurreta enter the store and then leave and begin to fill multiple inlets in his truck.

    The investigator claimed their report showed that even though Vidaurreta prepaid $400, he pumped $4,199.85 worth of gas — 915 gallons.

    Vidaurreta was arraigned and placed in Bedford County Prison with bail set at $150,000.
