Flooding closes roads, causes restrictions across Central Pennsylvania

(WTAJ) — With heavy rainfall entering our region, interstates and roads are closed or under restriction due to flooding and damage.
The following routes in Clearfield County are still closed:
Route 219 between the intersections of Harmony an Sylvis roads in Burnside Township. PennDOT has implement a detour using Route 3004 (Stifflertown/Sylvis Road), Route 3001 (Ridge Road), and Route 3014 (Harmony Road).

PennDOT said Route 879 was also closed for a time between Clearfield and Shawville due to flooding from the Susquehanna River. The closure was between the intersection of Airport Road in Lawrence Township and its intersection of Route 970 in Goshen Township/Shawville. It has since reopened.
PennDOT announced that a portion of Route 555 in Cameron and Elk Counties was closed due to flooding. The closure was between its intersection with Route 255 in Jay Township, to the intersection of Rock Hill Road in Benezette Township.
Additionally, Route 555 was closed between Rock Hill Road to the intersection of Route 120 in Driftwood Borough, Cameron County. Both of these routes have since reopened.
In Centre County, Route 4004 (Chestnut Grove Road/Bush Hallow Road) were closed due to rising flood waters. The road was closed between Bald Eagle Valley in Union Township and Snow Shoe Mountain Road in Boggs Township. They have since reopened.
These other roadways are also closed in Centre County due to flooding. Most will reopen sometime on Saturday, Aug. 10. These roads are:
Route 2012 (Sara Campbell Lane/Penn’s Cave Road/Water Street/Cooper Street/Penn’s Creek Street) between the intersections of Coburn and Beaver Dam roads in Penn Township. PennDOT expects this closure to remain in place until at least until 4:00 PM.
Route 2018 (Pine Creek Road) from the intersection of Coburn Road in Penn Township to the intersection of Bartges Road in Haines Township.
In Cambria County, the fire department has closed Route 219 North and South (Shawna Road) coming into Cherry Tree borough.
