SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be implementing a bridge-width restriction on Route 3008 (West Mud Pike).

The restriction began on Friday, Aug. 9, on the bridge over South Glade Run in Milford Township. The two lanes approaching the bridge will be reduced to a single lane crossing over the bridge with signage instructing motorist to yield to oncoming traffic.

The bridge, a mile outside New Centerville between Route 3017 (Chickentown Road) and Trinkey Road, carries approximately 550 vehicles per day. This restriction is being implemented in the interest of safety and will be effective once barricades and signs are placed. This restriction is not a result Tropical Storm Debby.

At this time, the restriction will be until further notice, PennDOT said.
