    Somerset County man barely missed woman with shotgun: PSP

    SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Jenners man is facing felony attempted homicide charges after police said he shot a gun multiple times at a residence and vehicle.

    Joseph Paruch, 37, was charged after police received a call on Aug. 11 about a man driving a gray Ford-F Series and firing multiple shots off. The caller also believed the driver to be intoxicated, according to the criminal complaint.

    When police arrived, they noted finding a beer can, dark colored shattered glass and multiple shell casings from a .223 caliber rifle. Parked in a driveway, police also found a white Ford Escape with multiple bullet holes along the left side and rear as well as bullet holes peppered throughout the front and right side of the house.

    The victim told police that there was a gray four-door Ford-Series truck driving around blaring music at around 2 a.m. When the victim asked Paruch to leave, he allegedly became confrontational. About 15 minutes later, Paruch pulled up in front of the victim’s house allegedly fired multiple rounds into the direction of the victim.

    Later that day, police spoke with another victim who told police that Paruch had driven up and down the street at least 10 times while blaring music and throwing beer cans out the window. When the victim asked Paruch to stop, Paruch allegedly attempted to block the roadway with his truck, according to the complaint.

    Paruch is now facing two felony charges of criminal attempt – criminal homicide, two felony charges of aggravated assault with attempts to cause severe bodily injury, two misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person, a felony charge of criminal mischief and a misdemeanor charge of possession of an instrument of crime with intent.

    He is currently in the Somerset County Prison after being unable to post his $250,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.
