NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Just days after Tropical Storm Debby passed through Central Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization in Northern Cambria is asking for help.

According to their Facebook page , Small Town Hope, Inc. is a non-profit that works to improve the health & wellness of children in their area.

The organization said that flood waters caused severe damage to their furnace and hot water tank. Replacing it is crucial for the children that they care for.

Another national company set to close Pennsylvania stores due to bankruptcy

“Well, any time anything as big as a furnace happens to a place like ours, it’s an unanticipated, huge amount of money. So a furnace repair between labor and getting a new furnace can cost us anywhere from $6,000 to $10000. And in our organization, we really pride ourselves and what we charge for our services and what we acquire for the programs and projects that we run,” Mandi Paronish, Executive Director of Small Town Hope said.

When they first discovered that water was in the basement, it started to rise. Eventually, it was three feet deep.

Monetary donations are needed, but they are also asking for volunteers and other skills.

“During times of tragedy, it’s emotional. If you’d like to give us something, give us what you can give. If you can give time, give us a call and tell us what kind of time you can give us. If you sing, if you dance, if you’d like to read those kinds of things, help us,” Paronish said.
