JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Center for Population Health (CPH) announced Wednesday alongside local church leaders they are launching a Health Ministry Initiative.

“As we look at areas in our community where folks gather together, we recognize the opportunity to work collaboratively with our faith-based organizations to bring education and resource information to members of the congregations to positively impact their health and lives,” CPH Executive Director Jeannine McMillan, said.

The Health Minister is an individual or individuals who are designed by the church’s pastor, priest or leaders as someone who will provide health and human service information to the congregation. The ministers will meet with CPH to discuss additional resources or health-related information their congregation needs.

The initiative will be completely free and is open to churches of any denomination or religion in Cambria and Somerset Counties.
