    Police: One person struck by vehicle in Somerset

    SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A person was sent to the hospital on Tuesday morning after a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash.

    Police were called to Plank Road on Aug. 13, on reports that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian, according to the Somerset Borough Police Chief. Initially, the driver had fled the scene but police confirmed that they are now in custody.

    The injured pedestrian was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, and while their condition is currently unknown, the Chief said that they are being treated for injuries sustained during the crash.

    The investigation is still active at this time. The Chief said their main focus is now figuring out what happened to cause the events of the crash.
