Meet this year’s 814 baby from UPMC Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — UPMC Magee-Womens at UPMC Altoona celebrated some special newborns Wednesday — babies born in the 814 on 8-14.

Aug. 14 coincides numerically with the area code of Altoona and every year, UPMC holds a special celebration recognizing families whose baby is born on that day.

This year’s featured baby is Sadie Ann Smith, daughter of Wendy and Cody Smith of Altoona. She was born Aug. 14 at 9:07 a.m., weighing 8 lbs, 4 oz., and is 19 inches long.

“I’m most excited about getting to watch my girls grow up together,” said Wendy, who is also a supervisor of Respiratory Care at the hospital.
