ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Over 200 runners gathered to PNG Field to support children with spina bifida.

Ashlyn Dugan started Love From Liam, when she found out her son Liam was diagnosed with the birth defect. With the start of the foundation, she hosted the Laps for Liam 5k and walk to raise money for children with spina bifida to access equipment through her foundation.

Love From Liam raised over $8,000 in Saturday’s event, with proceeds honoring eight different children who suffer from the disability. The event helped more than children locally.

“We have families like Dante Limoli that comes from New York to spend the day with us and raise money,” Dugan said. “It’s a big impact for our foundation that not only support from her but also from other places.”
