WINGATE, Pa. (WTAJ) Bald Eagle had one of the most explosive offenses in the state last season. Led by gunslinger quarterback Carson Nagle, the Eagles averaged almost 37 yards per game and made it to the state quarterfinals before falling to eventual state champ Southern Columbia.

Nagle is back for his senior season after starting the previous three years. It was a record setting season for the signal caller as he set the single season and career record for passing yards after throwing for 3,569 yards last year with 38 touchdowns while completing an astounding 71 percent of his passes. He’ll be tasked with breaking in a new skill position group after their top three receivers and their leading rusher graduated.

“Continue to make that next step. I mean, now obviously we’re into the lime and stuff to our lines looking really, really good,” said Nagle. “Our receivers are starting to really break down everything and learn what they’re doing wrong from the seven on stuff and watching film. They’re continuing to grow and we’re continuing to catch a lot of balls. I mean, we’re our receivers are making a really big jump right now. Everybody’s making a jump. Running backs right now into the conversation to we’re looking pretty, pretty good offensively right now.”

“Very excited to see his leadership and see what he did with a group of receivers and you know, everybody else and see how he developed as a full time leader, you know, last year and the year before,” said head coach Jesse Nagle.

Key Losses: Cameron Dubbs (RB) Kahale Burns (WR) Camron Watkins (WR/LB)

Key Returners: Carson Nagle (QB) Wyatt Spackman (OLB/TE) Beau Taylor (WR)

The Eagles offense was a nightmare for opposing defenses to stop, however Clearfield was the only team in the regular season who could contain the Eagles and handed them one of their two losses in a low scoring 13-7 affair. Those two will meet again in week eight.
