    Study shows Pa. ranks in top 15 for ‘most fun’ state

    PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — How do we determine what is fun? Is fun an opinion or truly a way of life? If you’re looking to have some fun in Pennsylvania, a new study shows that you have many options to choose from.

    The study, conducted by WalletHub, compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of “a jolly good time” that won’t break the bank. The indicators ranged from movie costs and accessibility of national parks to nightlife options per capita.

    When it comes to Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth ranked in at 13 out of 50. Below is the break down of how Pa. compared to the other states per capita.

    • Restaurants – 6th
    • Movie theaters – 12th
    • Golf courses and country clubs – 7th
    • Amusement parks – 16th
    • Performing-arts theaters – 8th
    • Fitness centers – 8th
    • Access to national parks – 28th
    • Casinos – 25th
    • Varity of arts, entertainment and recreation establishments – 21st

    If you’re looking to have fun without breaking the bank, experts like Todd Holmes, Ph.D. – Associate Professor & Option Head, Entertainment Media Management – California State University, Northridge, said that people should look at their personal income and see what they can advocate for leisure activities.

    It is also important to prioritize your spending so that your money can go to the things that make you the happiest. Most importantly, don’t forget that free activities exist too! Hiking, free local events and museums can be a great way to incorporate fun into your life without spending the extra money.
