Penn State students move back, ready for 2024-25 school year

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) – Penn State’s 2024-25 school year kicks off Monday, meaning thousands of students are pouring in for the new semester.

PSU students bring a big boost to State College’s local economy, something that business owners appreciate.

“I always enjoy the energy of the students when they’re back in town,” Cafe 210 West Owner JR Mangan said.

Penn State has a worldwide reach, bringing in students like Mohammad Alajmi all the way from Kuwait in the Middle East. He says it is “very rare” to see so many people together back home, and he is excited to get the semester started.

“I’m so excited to start and be a Penn Stater,” Alajmi said.
