BEDFORD, Pa. (WTAJ) — Downtown Bedford, Inc. is honoring Bedford High School students with a street banner project.

Parents and guardians can submit a photo of their child to be put on a street banner that will hang in downtown for a year. When it is taken down, it will be given to the parents.

All high school students are able to participate whether they’re into sports, the arts or academics.

This is the second year for the program and the organizer said it’s a great way for parents to show off how proud they are of their student.

“As a parent that just had a student graduate this past year, I think it was great to just honor my student saying, ‘Hey, I’m a proud mama, I’m going to have my son hanging in our town where I’ve lived all my life,'” said Lindsay Salas, Mainstreet Manager for Downtown Bedford, Inc., whose son’s baseball portrait is hanging just down the block.
