    State police to hold checkpoints across Pennsylvania roads

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Troopers across the Commonwealth are gearing up for another holiday weekend with checkpoints across the state.

    State police across Pennsylvania will continue efforts to save lives and keep people safe as Labor Day quickly approaches.

    Troop A, out of Greensburg, said they troopers will be specifically watching for distracted, aggressive, and intoxicated drivers over Labor Day weekend.

    Over the Fourth of July weekend (July 3 to 7), state police investigated 774 vehicle crashes. There were 11 fatalities and 244 injuries. Intoxicated driving was a factor in 64 crashes, including four fatal crashes.

    While state police hope you enjoy your holiday weekend, they remind everyone to buckle up and drive safe.
