Clearfield County man accused of stealing guns after being told about them

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A gun owner in Clearfield County accused a man of stealing several firearms from him.

Noah Fry, 24, of Houtzdale is alleged to have taken the guns from a property in Decatur Township, according to court documents. He’s been charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespassing after police were called Aug. 25.

According to a criminal complaint, the gun owner reported to state police that he had a conversation with Fry about his guns and then many of them went missing. He alleged that he spoke with Fry after the guns were stolen and Fry admitted to taking them. The gun owner also claimed Fry said he’d give some back, troopers noted.

Fry allegedly agreed to leave the guns in a camper and the man could go there to get them. According to charges, state police went to the camper and saw the butt stock of a firearm sticking out of a blanket when they looked in a window. Troopers said the camper was then towed to be searched.

State police said they spoke to another man who claimed Fry told him about the guns. The man told troopers he gave Fry a ride to the camper so Fry could leave the firearms for the gun owner to get them, charges show.

The man said Fry had what looked like guns wrapped in a gray blanket and also told police to check a certain dumpster for more guns.

It was noted that troopers were able to retrieve the other firearms from a dumpster the man mentioned.

Fry was arraigned and placed in Clearfield County Prison with bail set at $100,000.
