ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Curve announced it will be hosting its first 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

The Curve will be hosting the climb on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 7 a.m. – noon at the Peoples Natural Gas Field. Registration cost is $35 and can be done online or at the field on Wednesday. Included in registration is one grandstand ticket to the Altoona Curve Game on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.

The stair climb, established by the National Fallen Firefighters Association, honors the 345 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 by symbolically completing their heroic journey to save others.
