Altoona church to host ministry for single moms

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Faith Baptist Church of Altoona will begin a ministry for single moms beginning in September.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 4, meetings will take place at the church (15 40th St). At the start of every meeting a free dinner will be provided to all moms and their children at 6:30 p.m. Moms will also be offered a free copy of “The Single Mom Journey Devotional Book,” written by Sean and Jackie Teis.

During the meetings, the group will cover some of the top issues for single moms on their journey. The Church hopes to foster new friends between single moms while getting involved in activities and talking about their situations.

Childcare will be provided for all ages during each group meeting. There is a nursery, an elementary group and youth group for teenagers available. Transportation is available by calling the church office at 814-944-2894.
