(WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that they’ll be hosting public meetings for residents to attend to see upcoming projects in Blair and Cambria County.

Blair County meeting: Here’s when and where

In Blair County, PennDOT is developing plans for a project on Route 3009 (Valley Forge Road) over Blair Gap Run in Juniata Township, Blair County. The project is a bridge superstructure replacement project, which will include the removal of the existing superstructure and placement of a steel I-beam with a concrete deck superstructure.

It will also include minor approach paving and guide rail upgrades. A detour will be utilized during the construction of the project. A public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Allegheny Township Building (3131 Colonial Drive, Duncansville, Pa. 16635).

Cambria County meeting: Here’s when and where:

In Cambria County, they’ll be hosting a meeting to discuss the Route 2101 (Cooney Road) over U.S. Route 22 Superstructure Replacement Project. The project will include the removal of the existing bridge superstructure including barriers, deck, and beams.

It will be replaced with a new superstructure with associated roadway approach work that will raise the bridge to provide the required vertical clearance over U.S. 22. The current plan is for Cooney Road traffic to use a detour during construction to allow the contractor full access to the bridge.

A public meeting and plans display for the project will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Aloysius Community Center (7911 Admiral Peary Highway, Cresson, Pa. 16630).
