SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Dozens of Jeeps gathered in Duncansville over the weekend for a convoy to the Flight 93 Memorial.

The convoy, which consisted of dozens of jeeps, brought drivers from around Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. The riders made eight stops, with the final one being at the memorial plaza.

When drivers arrived at the plaza, they listened to the story of Flight 93 and paid respect to those who lost their lives. The event was free but only open to Jeep owners.

“We are getting involved with a lot of other communities and everything. And, we have gotten to the point where other groups are getting involved with ours,” Derik Roberson, volunteer firefighter, said. “So, a lot of those groups are trying to come in from this event and trying to make this event bigger.”

Robertson brought his own Jeep, which was notably very special. His Jeep was one of only three dedicated as a “9/11 Tribute Jeep.” This was the second annual Jeep convoy to the Flight 93 Memorial, and contributors say they hope to see it grow in the coming years.
