HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Huntingdon County Emergency Management Agency announced that the Fourth Street railroad crossing will be closed starting this week.

Beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the crossing will be closed as part of a restoration project. The closure is expected to last until Friday, Sept. 6, however it depends on how the repair work progresses.

The platform at the station will be extended and there are plans to include a new passenger waiting building as well. The project is part of preparations for expanded service, which is hoped to double the number of passenger trains stopping in Huntingdon.
