HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WTAJ) — The suspect in a reported burglary at a bed and breakfast has been arrested after police were led to potential thefts outside of Weis Markets.

Katelyn Ringley (Katelyn Beth Medina Portillo), 34, was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime and criminal mischief after Huntingdon police said she was identified by released security images on their Facebook page.

Police were called Aug. 31 for a report of a burglary and missing money from Gage Mansion on Penn Street. Detectives said they had security footage and posted pictures of the woman suspected of the theft.

On Sept. 2, Detective Karagise was called by Weis Markets security. They claimed they could identify the woman they saw in the pictures on the local news. According to police, the woman was seen trying to open car doors in the Weis parking lot Friday, Aug. 30. After going into the store, security told police they were able to identify her when she used her rewards card.

This led police to a residence associated with the Weis rewards account. Investigators said they watched as Ringley pulled up to the house and they were able to identify her as the suspect by her clothes and then identified her by her driver’s license.
