    Cambria, Clearfield County awarded over $500k in grants

    (WTAJ) —State Representative Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria, Clearfield) has announced that both Cambria and Clearfield County are receiving funding for different projects.

    The grants, totaling $587,433, were awarded by the Multimodal Transportation Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to improve transportation assets.

    Here is where the money will go:

    Cambria County : West Carroll Township will receive $348,275 to replace Reed Street Bridge.

    Clearfield County : West Carroll Township will receive $239,158 for improvements to Hoop Up Road and Poplar Street, including roadway widening, repairing base and drainage, milling, binding and wearing course, double seal coat, and shoulder work.

    “Collaboration between state and local governments to improve transportation in the Commonwealth is critical,” Kephart said. “I am happy to share that both Cambria and Clearfield counties will benefit from PennDOT’s multimodal grants to make our roads in the 73rd safer.”

    The grants are meant to be used to enhance communities, pedestrian safety and transit revitalization.
