    Police: Drugs, cash found after man crashes his truck in Altoona

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — An Altoona man is in jail after police said numerous drugs and over $1,000 in cash were found in his truck after he crashed it.

    Altoona police were sent to the Dollar General along South Lloyd Street Thursday shortly after 5 p.m. for a vehicle accident with a vehicle over an embankment.

    While investigating the incident, officers learned that Nickolas Stitt, 43, was passed out in his truck in the parking lot before waking up and driving into another vehicle causing both to go over the embankment, according to their report on Facebook . Police noted that a garage was also damaged in the crash.

    Stitt was allegedly found to be under the influence of drugs and he was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. An initial search of Stitt revealed $1,869 in cash and drug paraphernalia, according to police. A search warrant was later executed on his truck and officers said four grams of marijuana, approximately four grams of methamphetamine and hundreds of pills were seized:

    • 12 Oxycodone
    • 82 Acetaminophen
    • 8 Temazepam
    • 95 Alprazolam
    • 18 Lorazepam
    • Eight Amphetamine

    Stitt was charged with felony dealing in unlawful proceeds, risking a catastrophe, possession with intent to deliver drugs, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and three summary traffic charges.

    He was taken to the Blair County Prison where he’s being held on $75,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 18.
