WINDBER, Pa. (WTAJ) — A rescue center took in over 60 cats after a hoarding situation was uncovered in Somerset County.
According to the Ninth Life Rescue Center, they were called to the 300th block of 21st Street in Windber to assist in rescuing the cats. They were in furniture, walls, drawers and under filth. The entire house was covered in feces, urine and garbage, which made the initial rescue difficult, according to the center’s Facebook .
The cats are inbred and suffering from mammary tumors, blindness, internal parasites, flea anemia, urine burn, upper respiratory infections, flea allergy, neurological issues, dental disease, gastrointestinal issues, corneal ulcers, ear infections and conjunctivitis.
The Somerset County Humane Police and Windber Police Department were also on scene to assist the center in the rescue.
The Ninth Life Rescue Center is asking for donations, specifically scoopable litter and dry cat food. Donations can be gifted via the center’s Facebook or Amazon Wishlist .

I'm so tired reading about animals being abused.Give these people a hefty fine and throw them in prison. Forbid them for ever having another animal of any kind. this is heartbreaking
