    DuBois personal care home receives grant to upgrade facility

    CLEARFIELD COUNTY (WTAJ) -Thanks to a grant from the Department of Health a DuBois personal care home has been able to make upgrades for their residents.

    One of the big upgrades that Nelson Golden Years made was adding air purifiers throughout the rooms in order to protect the residents from different diseases.

    Administrators say that the residents love the upgrades and are very thankful since a lot of people forget about long term-care facilities.

    “We are so grateful for the state for making this happen because I think sometimes it’s one of those things where you don’t always think of long-term care and our resident, this is their home,” administrator Jackie Syktich said.

    One of the fan favorite upgrades from the residents is the new smart board which they use for many games and their favorite activity ‘Movie Fridays’.

    Other upgrades that were made to the facility include an infection-controlled visitation room, a new security system and an expanded outdoor deck.
