    Bo Bassett to wrestle for third place in U20 World Championships

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) – Bishop McCort phenom Bo Bassett continues to turn heads in the wrestling community.

    The junior has been racking up accolades this year between helping crush records for the Crushers while winning a PIAA Championship to defeating a former NCAA champ and most recently winning the Pan American Games.

    Now, he’ll have a chance to bring home a medal from the U20 World Championships as a 17-year-old. Bassett, who is being pursued by a plethora of Division I teams, made it to the third-place match at the 65-kilogram bracket for the championships, which are being held in Spain.

    Bassett bulldozed his way to the semifinals of the tournament, picking up three wins, before losing to Makoto Hosokawa from Japan. With the loss, Bassett dropped to the third-place bout, where he’ll wrestle for bronze on Saturday morning.
