This isn’t a glitch: Matrix and Back to the Future II return to Altoona theaters

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The time machine wasn’t invented to gamble, but I’m sure we could bet that 35 years later, Back to the Future was a constant mainstay in pop culture.

This may be a glitch in the Matrix, but we’re not supposed to think about that. Instead, we’re supposed to enjoy the anniversary of the first Matrix movie and Back to the Future II with both films returning to theaters in Altoona and across Pennsylvania.

Which is it? Truth, escape, and reality — or stay safe in the world you know?

Luckily, you don’t have to choose anything more than: “Do I go on Thursday or Sunday?”

The Matrix is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and Fathom Events is teaming up with AMC theaters to bring it back. Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and even that slimeball Cypher will be on the big screen one more time.

The film will be at AMC Theatres in Altoona (Duncansville) on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. For tickets and more info, click here .

Things are getting heavy, Doc.

Back to the Future II is traveling even further into the future, well beyond Oct. 21, 2015, and the dynamic duo (with Jennifer and Biff) will be back in theaters.

Not at all ironic or coincidental, Fathom Events is bringing the film back for its 35th anniversary right around the date Marty and Doc went to the future. Showings will happen on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Monday, Oct. 21.

Both showings will be at AMC Altoona (Duncansville) and take place at 7 p.m. (No Deloreon needed).
