JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Vice President Kamala Harris plans to stop in Johnstown Friday as part of her barnstorm of the state with election day less than two months away.

Harris will barnstorm throughout Johnstown where she plans to meet directly with voters in the community. Earlier in the week, on 9/11, Harris is anticipated to stop in Shanksville, Pa., accompanied by President Biden, to pay her respects at the Flight 93 memorial.

This stop, as well as her campaign through the Commonwealth, is part of her “New Way Forward tour” in which she, running mate Governor Tim Walz, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz and other campaign surrogates will blitz each battleground state — Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire and Maine — in only four days with plans to stop in every media market in these states.

The tour is accompanied by a new ad campaign launched Sunday in Pennsylvania highlighting Harris’ plans to enact a federal ban on price gouging on food, capping the cost of prescription drugs and ending the nation’s affordable housing shortage. The ad is part of the campaign’s $370 million investment in TV and digital reservations between Labor Day and Election Day.

“With early voting about to begin and less than 60 days until Election Day, our campaign will take the vice president’s message directly to the voters wherever they are – on the airwaves, on the doors, and online. With so much at stake in this election, we are blitzing the battlegrounds and leaving it all out on the field,” Michael Tyler, Communications Director for the Harris-Walz campaign said.
