ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A hometown favorite restaurant and convenience store chain was once again placed toward the top of Fortune’s list of best workplaces.

Sheetz placed second nationally behind Wegmans Food Markets and one spot ahead of Target in the 2024 Best Large Workplaces in Retail list. It’s the ninth straight year that Sheetz made the list and they are the only convenience store named in it.

“Being ranked second on this list, alongside highly respected and esteemed companies that also prioritize a positive workplace environment, is a significant accomplishment for us and not something that we take lightly,” Sheetz President & CEO said. “Our organization’s success has always been driven by our people and we want to ensure that we’re creating a place where they feel valued and appreciated.”
