    FBI accepting applications for teen academy programs

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WTAJ) — The FBI Pittsburgh Field Office is now accepting applications for its teen academy programs.

    The programs, which will be hosted in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, are open to any student in their junior or senior year with an interest in the FBI. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who live in Western PA or West Virginia are invited to apply.

    The program will look into multiple FBI topics including:

    • Fitness
    • Forensic science
    • Evidence gathering
    • Violence prevention
    • Sextortion
    • Hoax threats
    • Career pathways for Special Agents, Intel Analysts and Professional Staff
    • What the FBI investigates
    • The FBI’s domestic and international roles

    The classes will be offered in the following locations:

    • West Virginia
      • Beckley
      • Charleston
      • Martinsburg
      • Wheeling
    • Pennsylvania
      • Pittsburgh

    All students will be evaluated on their written essays and applications, which should include their GPA, school activities and community involvement. Applications can be found on the FBI’s website and are due on a rolling basis dependent on location.
