JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Recreation Economic Committee (REC) of the Cambria Regional Chamber announced it will be hosting a “Fall WalkWorks” session.

The session, which kicks off Sept. 11, will run for four weeks. The walking group will have a different guest leader or leaders each week, with local historian Richard Burkert leading the first walk.

Lauren Lazzari and Karen Myers will also be joining Burkett along the walk to discuss what services the United Way of the Southern Alleghenies has to offer. The walks will take place every Wednesday, beginning at noon.

The walking group will meet near the Cambria County Library, on the corner of Main and Walnut streets. It will mostly follow the predetermined WalkWorks route , with minor alterations depending on the guest walk leaders’ topics.

“We`re excited to hold a fall session this year,” Center for Population Health Communications Coordinator Allie Byers said. “By encouraging business and nonprofit leaders to lead the walks it will become a more engaging experience as well as teach people about what the community has to offer.”
