CLEARFIELD COUNTY (WTAJ) – Community members, first responders, and state and county officials gathered in Clearfield, to remember and honor those who died in the attack of 9/11 23 years ago today.

“Never forget the heroes and loved ones that we lost on September 11th, 2001,” Senator Wayne Langerholc said.

The ceremony included the presentation of a memorial wreath, as well as the raising of the Clearfield County flag with the United States and Pennsylvania flags.

State Representative Dallas Kephart reminded those in attendance that children in school now were not born when the attack happened, so as a community, Clearfield needs to inform the youth so the 9/11 victims and stories are not forgotten.

“Going forward, it’s important that we keep this tradition alive to let those that come after us know what happened that day, and to keep it in our memories,” Kephart said.
