HERSHEY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Halloween has arrived at Hersheypark, with both Halloween and Dark Nights open for the community.

The Halloween-themed nights will run for the next eight weekends, with the last night scheduled for Nov. 3. Tickets include family-friendly offerings with coasters, characters and candy during the day and more “frights” at night, with five haunted houses and three scare zones.

Halloween “thrills” include an all-new haunted house, Estate of Evil, and scare zone, Darkstone’s Hallow: Battle for Spring Creek. The other four haunted houses feature storylines with new, immersive scenes and characters.

For the first time, all three scare zones have a “fire element” to add to the haunting atmosphere. The Decayed Brigade has returned back to Midway of Misery, this year with more jump scares.

Guests are invited to ride all day and night on 50 family-friendly attractions, with lights-out rides on Wildcat’s Revenge, Canymonium and other select coasters being offered during the last hour of each night of Hersheypark Halloween operations.

Children 12 and younger are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat through the water park at 10 different spots. There will also be a hay maze and photo backdrops available until 8:30 p.m.

For guests who are looking to hang around after dark, but without the scare, a new Avenue of the Afterlife scare-free path in the water park will feature a DJ dance party, a Dark Nights Character Meet and Greet, street performers, food and shopping.

Hersheypark Halloween event hours run from 5-10 p.m. Fridays, 12-10p.m. Saturdays and 12-9 p.m. Sundays. Dark Nights begins nightly at 6 p.m. and extends one hour after Hersheypark Halloween Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. and Sundays until 10 p.m.
