Altoona Fashion Week takes over downtown

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The spotlight turned to fashion Sunday in Blair County.

A local talent agency hosted Altoona Fashion Week at Heritage Plaza. High-profile photography kicked things off with clothing from Africa followed by designs from Tomrisha Butcher, who organized the event.

“I wanted to do Fashion Week here in Altoona because it’s an area of a lot of diversity, a lot of talent, a lot of culture. But we don’t see it all the time,” Butcher said. “We don’t really get to see it out in the open and for people to enjoy themselves doing it.”

Butcher said she’s planning another fashion week in May of next year.
