Police: Woman caught with heroin, cocaine after overdose

FERGUSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) — A 48-year-old woman is facing felony charges after police responded to a reported overdose at her residence, where large amounts of heroin and cocaine were found, according to the criminal complaint.

Krista Porter Espinoza of Pennsylvania Furnace, was arrested on Sept. 14 after officers were called to a home on Val Verda Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Espinoza unconscious in the bathroom with 175 packets of suspected heroin and 18.6 grams of cocaine lying next to her, according to the affidavit. The drugs were reportedly found by her husband, who called police for help.

The criminal complaint details that the packaging and quantity of the drugs were consistent with the intent to deliver. Police allege Espinoza has a history of drug offenses and had overdosed multiple times in the past week.

Espinoza is charged with felony of possession with intent to deliver and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance. She is currently being held in Centre County Prison without Bail. According to court records, bail was denied due to her repeated overdoses and ongoing criminal activity, posing a significant risk to public safety.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 25.
