ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Curve stadium will be holding a free paper shredding event in October.

The community is invited to Peoples Natural Gas Field on Wednesday, Oct. 9 to dispose of any documents that contain important information such as credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information.

The shredding event will be hosted by Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Altoona).

“This free event is a great public service that gives residents the opportunity to have their documents shredded in an easy manner,” Schmitt said. “Destroying documents that have personal information is a key ingredient in preventing identity theft.”
