CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two men have been arrested for their roles in the August stabbing at the Galleria Mall in Johnstown.

Roger Allen Jr., 43, of Ebensburg has been charged with stabbing a man and Alexander Forsythe Jr., 59, of Johnstown is facing charges for his role as an accomplice, according to a criminal complaint. On Saturday, Aug. 31 just before 5 p.m., officers from the Richland Township Police were called to the Galleria Mall for a reported stabbing.

Officers arrived and spoke with the victim, who had been stabbed in the arm, and witnesses. According to witnesses, a black male, later identified as Allen, and the victim got into a verbal altercation before the stabbing occurred. After Allen allegedly stabbed the man, he fled with Forsythe from the area. The victim had to be taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Charges filed against man who started police chase from ‘known Altoona drug house’

The victim told police that he was eating in the food court when Allen came up to him and said, “You’re in the wrong hood” and then took his food and threw it on the ground. The victim told police that he picked up the food and threw it at Allen. Allen then allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed him in the arm.

According to the affidavit, the victim had a lacerated artery and two lacerated veins. He required internal repairs and four stitches due to his injuries.

A witness was also able to show police a picture of a red SUV that Allen and Forsythe allegedly fled in. Officers placed a be on the lookout (BOLO) for the car.

On Sunday, Sept. 1 the Johnstown Police located the car in a parking lot unoccupied. It was subsequently towed and placed into evidence. Surveillance video of the parking lot showed the SUV pulling in just after 5 p.m. and both Forsythe and Allen could be seen fleeing on foot, according to the complaint.

During a search of the vehicle, police found a folding knife and placed it into evidence. Forsythe was taken into custody and interviewed by police but refused to tell them who Allen was. He only called him “Ra-Ra” and would not cooperate with officers.

Police were able to later determine that the man who allegedly stabbed the victim was Allen and took him into custody.

Allen is now facing a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, using an offensive weapon, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

Forsythe is in the Cambria County Prison with bail set at 10% of $100,000. He is facing a felony charge for hindering the police and misdemeanor charges for providing false information to officers, intent to possess a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

This could have happened at any location, any place. I m not sure the last time you have been at the Galleria mall but your information is wrong there is many stores and food places in the mall actually almost 50 some places are in there. A lot of the places are within reason of prices of clothes, decor, supplies from $20 to $100 and then all the food places you can get food for 2 to 4 people under a $100. Then only 2 two stores that make seem half empty is the two businesses that went Bankrupt not the fault of Johnstown which was Bonton and Sears both failed and only due online.
